- What question does Erik pose to the audience? "Or is it photography?"
- What was Erik’s first real passion? Drawing
- What conception of photography did Erik previously hold? That the process ends when you press the trigger and that photography was just about being at the right place at the right time.
- How did this inspire him? He wanted to create something where the process starts when you press the trigger.
- What “common goal” do Erik’s photos have? His photos all had a common goal of retaining a level of realism.
- Define realism as used in this context. Realism as in it looks like it could of been captured, photos that take you a moment to "figure out the trick".
- What principles does he adhere to when creating an image? He sees it as a puzzle of reality and you can just take different pieces of reality and put it together to create an alternate reality. Also, photos combined should have the same perspective, lighting, and making it the combined photos seamless.
- Why is it easier to create a place rather than to find a place? Its easier to create a place rather than find a place because then you don't need to compromise with the ideas in your head.
- How does he plan the photos? He starts with a sketch, an idea, then its about combining the different photographs.
- What is his conclusion? The only thing that limits us is our imagination.
